A little bit about me...

I have worked in the hairdressing industry since I was 13 as a Saturday girl in a salon based in Oulton Broad. I remained employed there until 2002 when I became self employed at the same salon until I left in 2016 to setup Originality Hair Design. My home based salon has gone from strength to strength and I wanted to evolve my business and to offer Micro suction / warm water irrigation earwax removal service alongside my hairdressing which I have done so since October 2023.

On a personal level, I have always enjoyed exercise and when I was younger I was in swimming clubs, the netball team, athletics etc and joined the gym once I left school. The London marathon was always something I watched every year and vowed to one day be part of. In 2007 I applied and was lucky enough to receive a place with The MS Society.  My mum suffered with the disease for a long while and sadly passed away in 2001. And my older sister Steph was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was only 19, so this has always been a charity very close to my families heart and was the doorway into my fundraising.

Over the years I have raised over £16,000 for the MS Society over various challenges and life experiences. I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, performed a tandem skydive, trekked across Iceland, climbed The Atlas Mountains (in winter). Across these absolutely incredible experiences I have made some life long friends and loved every second of them. I was even chosen to be a torchbearer in the London 2012 Olympics for my fundraising activities.
